Hello Aline, I was going through the channels on Saturday evening and I came across your program. Although I don't understand or speak French very much, I still found it interesting. I hadn't realized that there wasn't any local French programming in the Bay Area. There's Chinese, Japanese, Filipino, Indian, Spanish. Why not French right? Frankly, I think you exude a nice personality and positive persona in interviewing your guest. I was sorry that I could not understand much of it. And on top of that, you are pretty. I just wanted to let you know that you've aquired a non-French speaking male viewer and I will now have to learn French to understand the program. I must admit it's a beautiful language. Your program has extended from a few short segments in the late 80's to programs running in France as well as the San Francisco and Bay Area, indicating a significant cultural contribution to America. I am requesting a picture of the person or people that reply to this letter, as well as a favorite French folktale (or folktales) and any favorite French songs or poems. I would like to know about French traditions, recipes, or legends that have been passed down in your family or families, along with how living in American has changed the way they are carried out or celebrated. I would also like to be familiar with French holidays, how the French have influenced the way we celebrate holidays in America and how they are celebrated in America versus how they are celebrated in France. Without meaning to offend or stereotype. I would like to implore about some cultural negativities that would seem as though they were negativities in America, such as alcoholism and lack of censorship in some areas. Though most people in America who are free of alcohol problems do not drink during the day, it is known that many people in France do drink during the day, and the drinking age is lower as well, so drinking alcoholic beverages at a younger age is not uncommon in your culture. In reference to lack of censorship, i would like to know your opinion on how what Americans consider inappropriate, as in the fact that partial nudity is not outlawed or uncommon in France or French culture. I am also requesting cultural information regarding the great French accomplishments in art, film, fashion, and architecture in France and America, I would like to know how the rich artistic culture that the French have, has changed or influenced American culture, as well as the differences in America's cultural art versus French art. Information regarding French film and fashion in America would also be appreciated, and I would especially like to know more about your French television programs in a cultural aspect. I am writing you because my 2 1/2 year old son and his mother have disappeared in March of this year. She is French and had requested full custody of our son so that she could move back to France. She has been last seen in the Grenoble area, her family lives near there. Her family and friends deny any knowledge of where she is. The 10 months prior to their disappearance we had undergone a complete custody evaluation to determine what would be best for our son Peter. The recommendation of the report was that Peter stay in San Francisco and enjoy the love of both his parents in a shared custody environment. They disappeared shortly after the recommendation was submitted for review. The French government nor the American government are very active in assisting in locating them. This has become an all to common tactic used by selfish parents to avoid what is best for the children in exchange for their own desires. I am told by Senator Barbara Boxer that 3 French parents have abducted children from San Francisco recently. International Child abduction is a terrible problem that just continues to become more common because it does not get any attention. If you could help expose this problem and help get exposure for my son both here and in France I would be very grateful. En fait, j'ai rentré quelques données sur mon moteur de recherche et voilà que j'entre en contact avec vous. Pensant que le hasard fait souvent bien les choses, je me dis qu'il y a une raison, donc sans vouloir abuser de votre temps, je me permets de vous demander quelques renseignements. Je suis une étudiante suisse, en dernière année de sciences économiques, ce que vous les français vous appelez HEC. J'aurai fini mes études en octobre, et je désire apprendre l'anglais et peut-être prendre un peu de recul avant d'entamer une carrière !!! Je crois pouvoir dire que je suis quelqu'un de très curieux de tout, ce qui n'est pas toujours pour plaire à mes professeurs, car il faut avouer que la finance n'éveille pas un grand intérêt de ma part. En effet, aux grandes théories, je préfère l'action et c'est pour cela que j'ai profité de mes études pour avoir de ! nombreuses expériences professionnelles. Dans le cadre universitaire, j'ai travaillé pour un journal d'économie, avec des articles certes économiques, mais aussi sur le monde de l'art, ma grande passion, sur le marketing et la communication. J'ai aussi dirigé le département marketing de ce journal. J'ai aussi été pendant plus de deux ans chargée des relations publiques de la Junior Entreprise de mon université. Je vous passe les stages en entreprises, qui m'ont cependant apporté le goût du travail d'équipe, la participation à des concours marketing, où j'ai eu la chance de pouvoir représenter mon pays dans des compétitions internationales. Cependant, tout ceci m'a fait rencontré de nombreuses personnes très intéressantes et fait remarquer que bien qu'ayant fait un maximum pour acquérir une expérience, on reste toujours d'une certaine manière "vierge" et prêt à relever de nombreux défis. San Francisco me paraît être une ville dynamique, artistique, grouillante, enrichissante et! c'est pourquoi j'aimerai y faire un stage. Considérant que je ne suis pas française, je suppose que cela ne sera pas possible chez vous, mais si cela vous est possible et si cela n'est pas trop vous demander, pourriez-vous me dire où je peux m'adresser pour trouver un stage en entreprise, dans une galerie d'art ou autres. Paris, j’ai découvert votre chaîne de télévision en effectuant des recherches pour un travail consacré à la télévision américaine. Cette idée d’une chaîne franco- américaine n’a tout de suite séduite. Faire découvrir la France et les Français vivant aux Etats-Unis est un projet que je trouve passionnant. M’étant spécialisée dans le journalisme et le management des médias, j’ai aussitôt pensé que faire un stage dans votre structure serait très enrichissant. Ayant déjà eu une expérience dans le journalisme au sein d’une radio et d’un site internet, pouvoir renouveler cette expérience, cette fois-ci à la télévision, qui plus est aux Etats-Unis, est une gageure qui me tente. De la recherche de documentations à la réalisation d’interviews, toutes les étapes du journalisme m’intéressent. Très curieuse de découvrir les technologies liées à la communication, j’ai également appris à maîtriser certains outils techniques : logiciels de montage pour la radio, logiciel de gestion dynamique des données pour Internet… je ne serai donc pas réticente à découvrir les technologies liées à la télévision ! Médias et communication sont des secteurs qui me tiennent à cœur (peut-être parce que je suis bavarde et que j’ai grandi en regardant la télé !). Il faut dire que mes expériences m’ont beaucoup apporté et m’ont surtout permis de rencontrer des personnes provenant d’horizons très variés : du sportif à l’homme politique, en passant par le chef d’entreprise ou l’inconnu au coin de la rue ! Engager le dialogue avec des personnalités aussi différentes est un défi que j’aime relever. Peut-être vous interrogez-vous cependant sur ma volonté de faire ce stage aux Etats-Unis ? A vrai dire, ce n’est pas bien compliqué… Ma première motivation est sans aucun doute la curiosité. Je n’ai jamais mis les pieds dans ce vaste pays, or pour quelqu’un qui souhaite travailler dans la communication, c’est sans aucun doute dommage ! Le leadership des Etats-Unis que ce soit dans la communication, la politique et l’économie est un phénomène fascinant… que j’aimerais découvrir de près ! J 'ai meme pu voir son interview en streaming sur Windowsmedia player... Que le Net a change depuis! Nous venons ici d'ouvrir la premiere StreamingTV de l'Ocean Indien (plateforme sous technologie WindowsMedia), que je t'invite a decouvrir sur http://www.runisland.tv Parfois SF me manque un peu, la ferveur du Net que j'ai pu ressentir a ce moment la..., disons a la prehistoire du web.. que le temps et les technologies passent vite!!! Comme j'avais pu l'exprime aucours de l'interview, ce n'est quand meme pas si mal de pouvoir travailler sous les cocotiers de la Reunion et de developper en parallele l'internet avec d'autres business models qui ne fonctionneraient pas aux USA et vice versa... Ce fut un plaisir de faire ta connaissance au DBF. Encore une fois, bravo pour l'initiative de French American Television. Pense juste a rajouter une rubrique de previsions financieres dans ta section "investors" car il n'y a que les chiffres (cash flow statement, balance sheet, cost/revenue analysis etc.) qui parlent pour les investisseurs. J'ai eu deux appels de gens que je connaissais vaguement pour me feliciter, et un ami professionnel de la tele a Paris a trouve que je "passais bien" ! Ce fut une experience passionnante qui m'a plus que jamais donne envie de travailler pour le media tele, un de ces jours... Encore toutes mes felicitations pour tes talents de decouvreuse d'invites. you do shows about France. Well, i am French. I have been living here
for 5 years but I have been an American fan forever. I lived and i
am still living the American Dream. I work for a Tour Operator and
I organize Incentive trips for European business people. About 40%
of my clientele is French or French-speaking.Actually,
my interests are turning more towards a career focused on nutrition
